Cameraless Photography

Scanner as Camera

Using the scanners to create self portrait images allows the photographer to utilize 2D and 3D items to make a composite. The items and pictures I used are some of my possessions that best represent me as a person. I used my cameras and images to express my photography persona and the leaves and bark to describe my love for nature and how I often take pictures in nature. These pictures are self portraits of myself because they express my characteristics as a photographer, nature lover, and explorer without always incorporating my physical body into the image.

  1. I think the second image is the strongest of these. It has a "Through the Rabbit Hole" feel to it; as if you were actually in a tree and looking out.

  2. I'm pretty sure I've already said this but the second one is fantastic!

  4. I love the first one. The tones are great, and although I know it's a collage, the color and composition makes me think it's a snapshot from a disposable camera or something.
